Once you have chosen a Vauxhall and are happy with the test drive, you will be ready to place an order. This is a simple online process and will be done by our Motability Specialist at the dealership. See what our customers think about the ordering process in our video clip below.
To do this, you will need to bring with you:
- Your driving licence if you wish to drive
- Certificate of entitlement from either DWP or SPVA
- Proof of address (e.g. recent utility bill or bank statement)
- Named Drivers’ driving licences and consent for their details to be checked against the
- DVLA driver licence database (if your named driver is unable to come with you to the dealership, they must complete a Driver Consent Form)
- Details of any previous accidents and driving convictions that you or your named drivers have.
You should be there to place the order yourself, unless you have a legal appointee to represent you.
STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the ordering process, you and your drivers will need to sign a Statement of Responsibilities. This document simply confirms that you understand and agree to abide by the Scheme rules around car usage .
WHAT IS A CP50?
CP50s are required if you live on the Isle of Man. This is a Payment Authority signed by yourself, authorising the Isle of Man Department of Social Security to pay the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance directly to us. Your CP50 should be stamped at any Social Security office.
All other customers have their payments authorised via an automated process by the relevant benefits agency, and so do not require a CP50.
Once we have submitted your order, the Motability team will automatically receive it for processing. Once processed, they will send you an acceptance letter containing your Personal Identification Number (PIN). This will take around a fortnight. Please keep your PIN in a safe place as you will need it when you collect your car. At that stage, we will ask you to key in your PIN number at the dealership. This is instead of signing a paper document and confirms your acceptance of the Contract Hire Agreement Terms and Conditions.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
Delivery times vary from model to model so please stay in touch with us in case there are delays.
We offer a firm ‘price guarantee’ to our customers, which means the price you agree with us when your application is accepted, is the price you pay when you collect your car. This guarantee stands however long it takes for your new car to be delivered. The only case where the price may alter is if the car description is changed subsequent to the original application.
DATE OF EXCHANGING YOUR ALLOWANCE
Your allowance will be held by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) or Veterans UK one week prior to the date we expect you to take delivery of your new car. This allowance will be repaid to you by the DWP once you have collected your new car.
